Always Be Prepared

Be prepared. I learned this lesson the hard way.

During the Thailand trip, for WordCamp Asia 2023, I missed a lot of things due to poor planning.

Lack of preparation was the main reason.

Preparation

  • Come up with a plan
  • Create a todo list
  • Create a checklist
  • Avoid last-minute rush
  • Have alternate options on the plan

Reminder

To keep me reminded of Thailand mishaps, I am listing them here

  1. Get a visa in India and avoid the crowds in visa on arrival – whenever applicable
  2. Convert currency and keep enough cash
  3. Do more research about the hotels in advance
  4. Be realistic and add only must-see places in the itinerary
  5. Book tickets early and apply for leave at work once you booked the tickets
  6. Install local apps for taxi, food delivery
  7. Try local food
  8. Stay in a hotel that is accessible and near a landmark, so that you can easily find it
  9. Carry fewer clothes, less is more
  10. Allow some room in your checked-in baggage for the souvenirs.
  11. Get extra baggage if required and early, do not wait for the check-in time
  12. Check for electrical sockets, and adaptors and bring them with you, they differ in other parts of the world
